Saving girls of Taliban’s Attack
15-year-old Malala yousafzai was shooting by a
terrorist group whose name is Taliban on a school´s bus in Pakistan. The
Taliban shot her in the head to silence her and end her campaigns for girls
right to go to school and learn, realize their dreams which they have always
dreamed of.
Malala was riding a bus with friends on their way home
from school, a masked gunman boarded the bus and demanded to know which girl
was Malala. When her friends looked toward Malala, her location was given away.
The gunman fired at her, hitting Malala in the left side of her head; the
bullet then traveled down her neck. The shooting left Malala in critical
condition, so she was flown to a military hospital in Peshawar. A portion of
her skull was removed to treat her swelling brain. To receive further care, she
was transferred to Birmingham, England.
Doctors said she would require multiple surgeries
including repair of a facial nerve to fix the paralyzed left side of her face
and she had suffered no major brain damage.
After these multiple operations she could begin attending school in
Birmingham in March 2013.
But this incident didn´t make Malala afraid that made
her insist about her rights and rights of all girls in the education and
expression in Pakistan. Malala refusal to stand down from what she believed was
right, brought to light the plight of millions of girls around the world who
are denied an education today. Malala Yousafzai gave a speech at the United
Nations on her 16th birthday in 2013. Yousafzai highlighted her focus on
education and women's rights, urging world leaders to change their policies.
She also said, “the terrorists thought that they would
change our aims and stop our ambitions, but nothing changed in my life except
this: weakness, fear and hopelessness died. Strength, power and courage were
born.” Until today, the Taliban still considers Malala a
target, because Malala believes that education is the right of every human in
this world, so Malala still a staunch advocate for the power of education.
